The access to the Conference Net is only open for 5 days at the time.

The users do not have to register their MAC addresses nor do they have to log on to the network. The users only need to find and connect to a wireless network called CONFERENCE.

The conference net is available in the following places:
Aðalbygging
Askja
Háskólabíó
Háskólatorg
Oddi
Lögberg
Tæknigarður
Þjóðarbókhlaða

The net is also available in some of the buildings of School of Education:
Stakkahlíð
Skipholt
Bolholt
Laugarvatn

Note! Unfortunately the conference nets for Aðalbygging and Lögberg cannot be active at the same time for now.

Who can apply for the net?
Everyone allocated with a facility in the buildings of HÍ.

What is the minimum number of conference guests required?
The standard is 10 or more. If the guests are fewer than 10, the supervisor of the building can register the MAC addresses of the computers in the Owl.

What is the price of the connection?

For 10 more usernames for the computer labs: 5000 kr.

The application need to contain following information:
Within HÍ: name and accounting number.
Outside HÍ: name, address and social security number for the payer.
Dates: beginning and end date of the conference.
Place: in which building is the conference.
Number of conference guests.

What is included in the service?
No extra service is included for the guests, unless an agreement has been made on forehand.
