Please be aware of certain rules that apply for the computer labs and we expect all users to kindly respect the following rules:

User rules

User rules for computer equipment owned or operated by the Computing service of the University (RHÍ) and the University network (HInet).
The user rules for computer equipment either owned or operated by RHÍ aim at a simple usage of equipment and service for members of HÍ.
The rules apply for all students and employees of HÍ, its institutes and other users of RHÍ’s equipment. The rules also apply for users of HInet. Users are obligated to study the rules.

Here you will find most of RHÍ rules and regulations regarding equipments, network and computer labs. The rules apply to all users in the University of Iceland (HÍ).

The function of this rule is to redirect your mail to another mail address.
1. Choose "SquirrelMail", usually it is automatically chosen.
2. Log on to your webmail with your Ugla username and password.

3. Click Filters up in the webmail when it opens.

The function of this rule is to send a reply from your e-mail to those sending you an e-mail.

It is often useful to apply a rule which sorts mails from certain senders or mailing lists. This way the mail goes directly into a certain folder instead of getting in the way in the Inbox.

The most effective way is to apply all rules in the HÍ webmail. Start by going to webmail.hi.is

1. Choose "SquirrelMail", usually it is automatically chosen.

2. Log on to your webmail with your Ugla username and password.

We recommend you to apply filtering rules for the HÍ webmail instead of using rules for other mail clients like Outlook or Thunderbird. The rules in the mail clients are only active when the computer, with the mail client, is turned on. But the rules defined for the HÍ webmail are always active.
